For beginners, you can try to get a good grip on a few necessary everyday phrases. For instance, how do you say “Good morning” in Spanish? I’m sure all of us greet good morning to others in our local language.
It’s just an evergreen phrase that is commonly used across every language. So, how to go about it?
“Good morning” in Spanish is translated as buenos días.
It’s pronounced as boo-EHN-ohs DEE-ahs.
In literal terms, buenos means ‘Good’ while dias means ‘days.’ Therefore, although buenos dias is literally translated as ‘Good days’ but it is normally used as a morning greeting so don’t stress about it.
Another casual way to say good morning in Spanish is to just exclaim buenos! (boo-EHN-ohs). It will be the same as saying ‘morning’ in English.
With that being said, it would be decent to use titles for others when greeting good morning to show respect. For instance, you can append Señor (sehn-YOR) or Señora (sehn-YOR-ah) at the end that means ‘Sir’ and ‘Ma’am’ respectively.
That’s pretty much about how you greet ‘Good morning’ in Spanish. How about when you wake up the next morning, you greet your friend with buenos días Señor or buenos días Señora just to see his/her reaction?
